As part of this successful, global manufacturing organisation, the European business division now requires an experienced Technical Lead who will have responsibility for supporting the regions by providing 2nd line technical support for the electronic product range, developing technical training and guiding both customers and the regions to finding the right technical solutions.

The Role:

Reporting to the Business Unit leader for the product range, as the Technical Lead for Europe you will form part of the team designing and implementing technical solutions and services, providing 2nd line support for all regions in Europe, ensuring the development of technical competence in the regions so that product sales grow in line with expectations.

In addition, you will also be responsible for, but not limited to:
  • co-ordinating and running the training for L2 and L1
  • creating the training packages for the specific electronic product range
  • creating monthly KPI reports for the support and operation functions
  • co-ordinating between L2, L3 and L1 to ensure every level of the support line is up to date
  • ensuring that the L2 team fulfils the required SLAs
  • driving / participating in major incident handling and assisting in the development of the solutions
  • running and co-ordinating the integration process together with the Integration Solutions Architect
  • helping the regions / platforms technically during presales process e.g. tender questionnaires, technical help in integration projects etc
  • participating in the release process
  • co-ordinating and running proper beta testing
  • providing overall assistance in managing customer expectation and working constantly to improve the service offering

Operating at a strategic level, as the Technical Lead you will be required to devise, implement and influence at all levels throughout the region.

The Candidate:

Ideally of graduate standard, from within an IS, IT or technical based discipline, candidates for the Technical Leader role will also be required to demonstrate that they have:
  • prior work experience at a senior level of providing a technical support function
  • an insight into mechanical and electromechanical products and solutions
  • experience of producing and delivering training materials
  • excellent communication skills and the ability to be flexible in a challenging environment
  • the capability of being a hands-on type individual, who demonstrates initiative and has a positive, professional, "can-do" attitude
  • previous experience of working on a pan-European / international business basis
  • the ability to swiftly interpret complex international organisations and successfully build an internal network
  • the ability to be analytical with close attention to detail
  • operate strategically being results driven with a strong commitment to both success and excellence
  • the capacity to be a strong, capable leader, with the presence to motivate and influence at the highest level
  • excellent time management skills and the ability to work effectively both within a team but also under their own initiative

European language skills would be a benefit but are not essential.

Candidates for the Technical Lead role should note that there will be frequent travel within the European region with this role.
