Dutton recruitment are working exclusively with a well-known manufacturing company located in Selby. Working as part of a broad multi skilled Engineering team, reporting to the Engineering Manager, Maintenance Technicians will work 37.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri 08:00-16:00 excluding breaks). In addition, engineering out of hours cover is covered by a call out rota which is currently one week in six with time back in lieu for hours worked on call out.

The main duties of the role include:

To ensure the safe and efficient running of the production process and improvement in plant reliability and performance.
To be actively involved in the ongoing development and use of the Maintenance management system in order to provide the necessary documented information and history required.
To be actively involved in predictive maintenance activities including corrective and pre-emptive condition-based monitoring.
To ensure that all relevant documentation is up to date, duly signed off and kept in a secure location for inspection by internal/external auditors.
To liaise with outside contractors/suppliers in a professional manner to present a professional outlook and view of the company.
To manage and monitor contractor activity when required to ensure they are working to the site contractor management policy and their written risk assessments and method statements.
To produce approval to work and permit to work documentation for contractors or in-house activities.
To demonstrate a positive approach and attitude to continuous improvement and display an active involvement in associated projects.
To ensure all Health & Safety standards are adhered to.
To demonstrate a proactive involvement in the achievement of the site strategy and departmental targets and KPI's.Essential Criteria:

Core Mechanical qualification and experience
The ability to work independently or as part of a team
Excellent problem-solving skills
Effective communication skills
Flexible positive approach
Experience in a similar role in a fast moving, high volume production or manufacturing environment
Planning, prioritising and organisational skills - Time and Resource Management
Contractor management and controls
Experience of risk assessments, method statements
IT Skills - Excel, Word, etc
