Infrastructure Support Technician
As CVP's Infrastructure Support Technician you will be the first post of call within the company for help with issues concerning; facilities (the building and environment), security and CCTV and for providing basic 1st line support to users across our desktop/PC environment and network. This varied role includes a wide range of activities including (but not limited to); receiving and prioritising facilities/building related issues, liaising with suppliers/contractors re: facilities issues, managing our door access network, managing our CCTV and alarm networks (including liaising with security companies), conducting first line maintenance and problem fixing services (where you have the skills) for our facilities and also for the PC/desktop and Network environment ( where confident diagnosing hardware and software faults and solving technical issues and providing technical support/solutions across IT infrastructure systems), configuring new users, installing/updating software etc. Typical work activities You'll be responsible for the smooth running of the building and our facilities and basic support of the IT infrastructure. It is a varied and challenging role and will involve (but won't be limited to) the following activities: Providing maintenance and support across CVP's buildings/facilities as required Hand-on problem resolution where possible Dealing with suppliers ( electricians, plumbers and a variety of contractors as required) Conducting CCTV checks Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications; Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults; Replacing parts/components as required; Supporting the roll-out of new hardware and applications; Setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues; Responding within agreed time limits to call-outs; Prioritising and managing many open cases at one time; Testing and evaluating new technology; Conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment Other Duties - as reasonably requested by the company Desirable skills - Excellent literacy, numeracy and organisational skills are essential as is the ability to work either individually or as part of a team in a time pressured environment. Good communication and problem solving skills are also essential. You'll need excellent time management and prioritisation skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across many departments.
