Nursery Manager Location: Kingston, KT1 3RB Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE for 42 hours per week Our client is a 40 place day nursery that is committed to excellence and providing a high level of quality childcare and ;Following their recent refurbishment and expansion they are currently seeking a hands on Nursery Manager to join their growing team. The company have their own dedicated support office which covers Payroll, Fees, main HR and Customer Enquiry ; Therefore, the Manager that they are seeking will be hands on, dedicating themselves to the children and the ; The nursery itself is in a large house, and the size of the building is larger than what is required for the number of children, they offer more space than required, smaller numbers of children per room and a more dedicated ; Key Responsibilities: To effectively manage the day to day running of the Nursery in line with the Statutory Framework by: •Ensuring the Learning and Development Requirements are met by ensuring all the children at the Nursery are provided with a broad, stimulating range of activities. •Recognising and tracking children's progress to understand their needs and liaising with outside agencies if necessary to support the children's development. •Promoting and facilitating multi-agency working with all external agencies. •Ensuring that the children are kept safe and all Safeguarding and Welfare Procedures are followed. •Recruiting, leading and managing the team by supporting them in their roles with training and mentoring as required and by role-modelling excellent childcare practice. •Promoting an excellent level of parent/carer partnership with regular Parent/Carer Forums and clear, effective communication at all times. •Overseeing the nutritional needs of children and all food safety regulations are complied with. •Ensuring all Health and Safety requirements are adhered to at all times. •To promote and market the Nursery to prospective parents and carers to ensure that the occupancy levels at the Nursery are maintained •Managing and meeting the financial targets set by the budget of the ; Key Skills & Requirements •Must be interested in offering a high level of quality childcare and education by ensuring consistent high levels of Care and Education are met in the Nursery, ensuring a minimum standard of a 'good' in Ofsted Nursery Inspections. •Must have a full and comprehensive understanding of the Statutory Framework to ensure all regulations are met. •Excellent verbal and written communication •Have proven track record with success in managing a team with the ability to manage 'hands on' and supporting the team as a role model, by offering solutions to any day to day issues •The ability to have firm but fair communication with parents/carers/colleagues and outside agencies •Competent use of IT computers/software •Flexible and Reliable and understanding of the requirement to work the hours to meet the needs of the business •Ability to plan and prioritise work load when lots of demands are in place •Minimum of 2 years as a Manager/Deputy Manager in a Nursery setting •Demonstrated success with managing team •Must be able to report to Directors in a succinct concise way •Exceptional people skills with parents and carers dealing with challenging skills •Skills to carry out critical evaluation of the nursery practice. •Experience of dealing with Ofsted at inspection level.
