We are the mobile cross-device team within Experiences and Devices at Microsoft! We build cross-device experiences that help people around the world be productive on their iPhones, their Android phones/tablets and their PCs. Our engineering teams are in Redmond, London and Beijing and together we focus on shipping innovative, industry leading, cloud-driven experiences on both phones & PCs, infused with advanced machine learning and AI. Our vision is big enough to change the way our customers will experience their favorite Microsoft features & services on their mobile devices in the future. We're looking for a capable and enthusiastic engineering leader to work in our cloud services team based in London. You will own the vision for and lead development of customer-facing cloud services that enable a connected experience for customers between their mobile phones and PCs. You will focus primarily on cloud infrastructure and services relating to the SwiftKey Keyboard application. This is a leadership position and will involve taking on people management responsibilities, with both engineers and other engineering leaders reporting to you. Candidates will be assessed for these core expectations of the role as part of the interview process. ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities Be hands-on. Write and review code, coach your team through technical issues and join the on-call rota. Use your experience and extensive cloud services knowledge to make sound technical decisions daily Produce and own a clear vision for the direction of SwiftKey's cloud services and infrastructure. Support and inspire a team of cloud services and dev ops engineers in their ambitions to learn and grow in their careers at Microsoft. You are part engineer and part mentor. We have a talented team of existing engineers in this space and we expect you to nurture their ambition. Deliver high-quality, scalable and reliable cloud services that meet customer promises. Own and evolve our cloud services architecture and technology roadmap. Know how to design for scale, efficiency, costs and reliability.
