Qualified Financial Controller required for a Production Company in South Birmingham.

Your new company
We are currently recruiting for the UK subsidiary of a international production group. The UK company has a T/O of circa £50 million and works with many international household names. They have 3 sites in the UK with the Head Office in South Birmingham and have an international presence in over 35 different companies. The company are experiencing significant growth and are looking for a Financial Controller with a view to becoming Finance Director.

Your new role
As Financial Controller you will be responsible for the production of the UK Financial and Management Accounts. Reporting into the UK Finance Director who is not based in Birmingham, you will take full responsibility for a Finance team of 8 based in Birmingham and be the number one person in Finance on site.

This is a hands on A-Z Financial Controller role, you will be responsible for maintaining all financial controls, producing the month end process, dealing with the auditors and other ad-hoc duties including VAT and Corporation tax. Given there is a team of 8 you will also be responsible for managing and developing the team.

Other duties will include supporting the Finance Director with FP&A work and working on commercial growth plans including budget settings, 5 year plans and review of new ventures and customers.

This role has the potential to become Finance Director for the right individual as the current Finance Director looks to take on a more strategic board level role and will suit a bright up and coming Financial Controller or someone looking for their first Controller role.

What you'll need to succeed
Applicants must be fully Qualified Accountants and have some previous exposure managing a finance team, ideally within a larger SME environment. You will be happy to work in a very hands on nitty gritty role but also be able to see the bigger picture and make commercial decisions to support the growth of the company. Excellent IT skills and strong communication are also essential in this role. We are looking for a progressive candidate on the upward curve who is looking for a challenging and varied role.

What you'll get in return
Salary up to £65000 plus £5000 car allowance, 25 days holiday plus statutory, pension.
