An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Workshop Engineer to join our expanding, forward thinking Forklift Truck company. Working at East Midlands workshop your role will be interesting and varied. Along with the ongoing requirement for servicing and preventative maintenance work, of both IC powered and electric equipment, you will be expected to be able to carry out diagnosis and subsequent repair work to both clients and the company's own equipment as well as carrying out Thorough Examination Inspections (training will be given to the right individual if required).

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Specific duties will be as follows:
  • Servicing, preventative maintenance and repair of both company owned and customer forklift trucks ensuring unscheduled repairs are minimised;
  • Perform mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault diagnosis carrying out subsequent repairs as required;
  • Provide clear information regarding equipment, service, repair or inspection status and to advise actions that maybe required to maintain the equipment;
  • Develop and maintain client relationships ensuring the highest levels of customer service are achieved;
  • Liaison with the parts department to ensure correct parts are ordered;
  • Completion of documentation to company standards;
  • Work within Health & Safety requirements at all time;
  • Computer literate.

Key Skills & Experience:

As an experienced forklift truck service engineer you will have gained experience from a similar role and have an in-depth knowledge of forklift trucks. You will also need the following skills and experience:
  • In-depth mechanical and electrical experience including strong diagnosis and repair skills;
  • Experience in a similar role is essential;
  • Experience of hydraulics and electrical equipment;
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise in a clear and concise way with all levels of customers;
  • A flexible and helpful attitude to work;
  • To be able to work as part of a team or under your own initiative;
  • A full driving licence;
  • A comprehensive tool kit.
