Target Group is one of the leading business service providers revolutionising our client's businesses through Financial Service expertise and innovation. We have an exciting opportunity to join our Project Management team as a Principal Project Manager.

The Principal Project Manager will work alongside the Head of Project Management to improve the standard of project management within the Project Management team, engaging with the Sales, Bid and Client Management Teams to ensure that opportunities are well defined and are effectively transitioned into Project Delivery to maximise the opportunity for success.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Assist in the production of departmental project management and PMO budgets, providing additional input and insight to Head of Project Management
  • Ensure delivery of assigned projects and programmes to agreed criteria of cost, time and quality
  • Work with Finance Partners and the PMO to enhance accurate controls of costs, benefit realisation and financial reporting across all projects and programmes, including identification and optimisation of chargable change items and visability of costs vs budget
  • Manage stakeholders and any necessary escalations effectively to ensure the project, programme and departmental objectives are met
  • Coach and develop members of the team to fulfil their roles and establish career plans
  • Define and implement processes, documentation and tools to gather the internal or external clients requirements effectively to deliver projects and programmes smoothly

  • Prince 2 or equivalent professional qualification
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with clients and internal teams to ensure that bid support/projects are delivered in line with defined requirements
  • Detailed understanding of the Bid/Sales support process within Target
  • Ability to challenge the status quo with the intention of improving internal processes and procedures
  • Experience of working in Waterfall and Agile environments
  • Project scheduling, including managing resource requirements, using MS Project
  • Managing and delivering projects in line with cost, quality and time constraints
  • Experience of leading, managing and developing project managers
  • Experience of coaching and developing team members
  • Experience of managing resource within a project and programme management environment
  • Experience in monitoring and reporting against departmental performance and quality KPI's
  • Experience at managing budgets and forecasts

Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 per annum
