The Role

This is a great opportunity for a Credit Control Team Leader looking to 'make a difference' to lead & develop a team of Credit Controllers within Invoice Finance. You will need to be engaging & dynamic and provide a first class credit control and ledger management service for the client base, whilst maintaining a focus on risk management.

You will also get involved in process and system improvements in the team and be central to the evolvement of the department.

Key Accountabilities include
  • To lead the team in collection all overdue monies using a variety of collection methods (telephone, email, and letter) for our invoice finance clients.
  • To ensure that the team maintain contact with clients and debtors in order to effectively collect debt (including collection via the legal process as required), highlighting any issues that may delay payment and to ensure that ledger memo lines are updated with consistent clear & concise information.
  • Ensure that invoices are disputed and funding limits withdrawn when applicable, thus controlling our bad debt risk and maximizing our security.
  • To ensure that regular updates are received from Combined clients regarding overdue, top debtors and problem accounts
  • To maintain effective communication between Relationship & Risk teams to ensure that a high level of support and information is available when required (i.e. resolving disputes, problems, security risks).
  • To complete invoice and balance verifications as and when required
  • Provide a high level of service to ensure client satisfaction and retention, seeking improvements where possible
  • To be a supportive and participative team member and ensure that the duties of the department are covered.
  • Organize meetings, working sessions, training and development to build an engaging high preforming Credit Control environment

Experience required
  • Experience of working within a Credit Control environment is essential
  • Supervisory experience would be beneficial but someone seeking additional responsibility with the above characteristics would be considered
  • Open on sector experience, although Financial Services (and specifically Invoice Finance) would be preferred
  • Strong Customer Orientation
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Problem analysis and decision making skills

The Benefits

As you would expect, this opportunity offers a competitive basic salary and reward package, and you'll also benefit from our commitment to investing in your professional development.
