Corporate Communications Manager

An interesting and unique opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Communications Manager to work with a globally important business who are respected for being at the forefront of their field on an international level.

As Corporate Communications Manager you will be responsible for leading the communications function during a time of real change. Playing a crucial role in the development and delivery of the Company's communications, internally and externally, managing the Corporate Communications team, you will work closely with employees and in many instances be the 'go to' person for this area of the business.

Main responsibilities:
  • Developing and executing a clear communication strategy to support business priorities; employee engagement and employee support
  • Working with the Head Office and external agencies, proactively managing government affairs and media relationships to maintain the business's and associated Group reputations
  • Providing professional guidance to the senior leadership team, particularly in relation to reactive communications
  • Engaging with key stakeholders both internally within the business and other Company entities, as well as externally
  • Contributing to the legacy and CSR activities and supporting implementation
  • Leading a small team of experienced communications specialists

To be considered you must have/be:
  • An experienced Communications Manager with previous external and internal communications experience
  • A strong collaborator and supportive leader who proactively develops team members
  • Technically strong; excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, and journalistic ability
  • Demonstrable experience of dealing with press and media, both proactively and reactively
  • Experience of leading a team of experts in both internal and external corporate communications
  • Strong presentation and communication skills as you are likely to be called on to give presentations to a range of audiences, including Board
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills; ability to work with a range of stakeholder's both internally and externally to the business
  • Proven ability to liaise with senior executives and explain communication techniques and approaches to them
  • Marketing communication skills and experience managing an intranet is desirable
