I am currently working with a high achieving, independent secondary school that are looking for an Art specialist to join their excellent Art department from January 2020 on an initial contract basis.

To plan, prepare and deliver lessons that will engage pupils and maximise pupil performance
To maintain an excellent standard of discipline through focused teaching and through positive and productive working relationships
To use a range of established teaching methods which sustain the momentum of pupils' work and keep all pupils engaged
To set, mark and assess pupils' classwork and homework while providing constructive feedback and setting appropriate targets
To help the Head of Department develop & update schemes of work across all Key Stages
To be familiar with the statutory assessment and reporting requirements
To be familiar with the Code of Practice on the identification and assessment of Special Educational Needs and as part of their responsibilities implement and keep records on Individual Education Plans for pupils when required
To attend and contribute fully to school and departmental meetings, progress evenings as required
To contribute to activities identified in the Faculty Improvement Plan
To carry out the role and responsibilities of a form tutor
Person Requirements

Honours degree or equivalent, in a relevant subject (2:2 or above)
Qualified teacher status
Experience working within industry (desirable)
Ability to teach Art up to GCSE
Ability to teach Art up to A-Level (desirable)
To be able to communicate effectively with Staff, pupils, parents and wider members of the local community
