As part of our objective to become the word's most effective University Technology Transfer organisation, we are looking to appoint a talented Project Manager for Electronics within our Science & Engineering team.

Are you an entrepreneurial Computer Scientist with a passion for innovation?

We are searching for a dynamic entrepreneurial Project Manager who is a specialist in Computer Science. As a project 'champion' and technology expert in this area, you will be responsible for owning and driving opportunities through UMI3's stage gate process.

Your will 'own' the management of all aspects the project from initial identification and commercial evaluation through to a point where we have a robust business or commercialisation plan ready to be turned into successful spin-out business or high value licensing opportunity.

Reporting to the Director of Projects, Science and Engineering the Project Manager - Computer Science will ensure an steady flow of innovative computer science projects which have the potential to generate significant market impact. They will regularly interact and engage with academics to promote new commercialisation initiatives and ensure that exiting innovative ideas are captured.

The candidate will be responsible for writing well structured, comprehensive business cases for each commercialisation opportunity. An understanding of the big global innovation themes in computer science is essential as well as a strong technical background in the subject.

They will be able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen and be able to collaborate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

·A Higher degree in computer science or a closely related subject is essential for this role.

·A business or project management qualification is desirable but not essential.
