Your new company
Your new company is a thriving public sector organisation, based in Blackburn. With excellent motorway links, they make an ideal location for those travelling from either end of the M65 and local towns. Due to continued growth and new acquisitions, they are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer on a permanent and full time basis.

Your new role
Your new role as Payroll Officer will involve you reporting directly to the FC, where you will be responsible for providing advice and guidance to staff, be a point of contact for all central colleagues regarding payroll and ensure accurate delivery of payroll across the business and ensure all deadlines are met. You will be responsible for processing payroll adjustments each month, inclusive of new starters, leavers, mileage, expenses and pension opt out forms. You will also support the Senior Payroll Officer in reviewing the payroll report and ensure all payroll adjustments have been actioned whilst notifying the team of any errors on the final payroll report. Other elements of your role will involve deductions from wages, processing sickness returns, processing starters / leavers and completing any additional documentation. This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you should possess extensive all round payroll knowledge and have experience of computerised payroll systems. It would be desirable for you to have experience of iTrent and be fully conversant with the current regulations and proposed changes with occupational pension schemes.
