Salary: £25,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience)

ARM are currently recruiting for an RF Systems Engineer with understanding of Radio Frequency communication for a permanent opportunity with a world leading defence company in Gloucester. The ideal candidate shall work under the direction of the Senior Engineer to deliver specific work packages by applying broad communications engineering skills. The candidate will work upon a variety of research and development challenges to deliver cutting edge Electronic Warfare and Cyber (EW & C) solutions. This position could suit a recent graduate with relevant work experience or a more experienced engineer looking to further develop their skills within RF Engineering.

The main responsibility of the RF Systems Engineer based in Gloucester will be:
  • Utilise various hardware, software and communications components to develop bespoke solutions for a diverse client range.
  • Work within the team to assist the identification and implementation of technical solutions to complex problems.
  • Learn technologies quickly and disseminate knowledge to peers.
  • Show willingness for professional development, increasing skills and knowledge within the EW & C environment.

The ideal RF Systems Engineer able to work in Gloucester will have experience of the following:
  • Problem solving: a methodical problem analysis approach to determine the root cause of issues.
  • A high-level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of principles of full engineering lifecycles.
  • Fundamental understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) communication theory and communication system design

It is considered highly desirable if you have any of the following skills:
  • Use of RF test equipment (spectrum analyser) in support of RF analysis.
  • Knowledge of developing Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms and architectures
  • Working knowledge of Software Defined Radio (SDR) technologies, including GNURadio or REDHAWK.
  • Variety of languages for test and development such as: C++, Python or Embedded C.
  • FPGA technologies and languages, e.g. VHDL or Verilog.
