Management Accountant

Based in Pinner, Middlesex, our client is a reputable and market leader exclusively working with MRK Associates to help them recruit a Management Accountant on a permanent basis.

This job would suit an ACCA/CIMA Qualified, Part Qualified or qualified by experience Accountant who has previously worked within a busy finance department who will be responsible for producing accurate and timely financial and management accounts for Senior Management. The job will also involve communicating with internal and external departments and supporting financial performance whilst ensuring controls and flow of financial information is accurate and effective.

This company is an owner managed business that established 15 years ago but has grown consistently with multiple sites nationwide. They have plans to develop and grow further and this role will enable the Finance Director to focus further on the strategy and managing acquisitions. The job will sit in a small, yet focused accounts team and is a great opportunity to operate as the senior figure within the department with a clear path to manage in the future.

The successful individual should have effective communication and organisational skills with the ability to achieve targets whilst maintaining accuracy. This is suited for an individual with analytical and problem-solving skills as well as good level competence in monthly management accounting.

Experience of reviewing and improving existing internal controls with the ability to develop key relationships with relevant stakeholders would be desirable. We will consider individuals who will be stepping into a senior role for the first time and those that can effectively hit the ground running.

Duties will include:
  • Ensuring the production of the monthly P&L's for multiple sites on a timely basis
  • Assisting the other team members with the production of their monthly P&L's including reviewing the draft results for required adjustments
  • Carrying out variance analysis to explain variances to Budget / Forecast
  • Performance of monthly balance sheet recs and assisting the team with their reconciliations
  • Preparing the monthly payroll and being responsible for all relevant payroll reporting
  • Assisting with the year end audit process, ensuring that all relevant working papers are prepared for the auditors
  • Looking at financial controls and processes and implementing relevant changes
  • Authorisation of all relevant payments from our online banking system
  • Delivering projects related to finance, this includes, but is not limited to, reviewing how we currently use Sage
