Commodity Manager - Indirect
12 Month Contract
£42p/h (potentially negotiable)

Role Summary:
Developing and delivering commercial strategies for their commodity areas, identifying and delivering savings, and adding value through excellent supplier management, innovative ideas and continuous improvement.

Typical Roles/Area of Focus:
Incumbent's responsibilities will generally focus on the following:
*Deep understanding of the global strategies for their commodity areas, and be able to translate these into European plans. Engage all APS sites in UK, France & Italy in understanding and implementing the commodity strategies and drive synergies across Europe. Facilitate deployment of and compliance to global strategies.
*Identify opportunities to lean processes and to create additional value in the supply chain.
*Sourcing of non-product goods & services for their commodities, leveraging synergies and providing commercial support as required across Actuation Systems.
*Savings plan in place and responsible for delivering their savings target; accurate & timely reporting of savings and headwind for their areas of responsibility.
*Run RFQs & complete negotiations resulting in the optimum supplier selection and maximizing value.
*Contracts are executed for all high spend or high risk suppliers within their commodities
*Preferred suppliers are identified. Spend is consolidated to preferred suppliers, driving a reduction in the number of suppliers.
*Stakeholders are engaged in all savings activities and sourcing change.
*Work with other team members to standardize and improve all processes across the Non Product Supply Chain using lean tools.
*First point of escalation point for supplier issues for their commodities in that country.
*Ensure compliance to SOX & business controls are followed for all activities.
*Previous experience managing logistics supply chain would also be beneficial.

Required Attributes:
*Able to influence stakeholders at all levels in the organization, with excellent communication skills
*Able to quickly identify commercial opportunities, implications and risks
*Working knowledge of contract law
*Project management capability to drive projects through to their conclusion.
*Strategic & creative thinking
*Drive and ability to work independently

Typical Educational Requirements:
*Degree or equivalent
*Preferably certified by MCIPS
*Working knowledge of Purchasing Management, Commodity Management or Supplier Relationship Management exposure.
*Fluency in Microsoft Office or similar spreadsheet, presentation and word processing applications

From time to time the successful candidate may be required by the Company to perform other tasks, which are not included in the above description, but are within the capabilities of the individual and where necessary training will be given.
*% Travel Required: 10 - 20%
