An opportunity has arisen for a Junior IT Support Engineer to join the team. The successful candidate will provide IT installation and support services remotely and at our customer's sites, most of which are located within a 1-hour drive from St Albans.

This role will include on-the-job training, initially in the St Albans office. We will ensure you have the skills and confidence you need before sending you to customer sites.

Responsibilities include:
  • Remote Support from our St Albans office.
  • Regular support visits at nominated sites.
  • Resolving support tickets in a timely and professional manor.
  • Maintaining first rate customer service.
  • Taking ownership of customer issues and requests.

  • A full UK driving licence.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for computers and IT.
  • A strong knowledge of IT equipment and computer hardware / software.
  • Experience of installation and support of personal computers (mainly W7 and W10).
  • Working knowledge of administering Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Ability to work to an extremely high standard in order to maintain a first rate service.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • A good telephone manner.
  • Applicants need to be smart, confident and well-presented.

A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required and carried out by the company prior to employment.

Advantageous but not required - Knowledge or experience of any of the following:
  • Data cabling.
  • Projectors, interactive whiteboards and audio installations.
  • Experience of troubleshooting network issues with knowledge of switches, topology and patching.
  • Previous experience in similar role.
  • Active Directory / Group Policy knowledge
  • Microsoft Hyper-V Virtualisation.

  • Starting salary will be in the range of £18,000 - £23,000 per annum depending on previous experience.
  • 20 days per annum plus bank holidays.
  • Annual bonus subject to personal and company performance.
