Bonfire Engineering Recruitment is retained with our Derbyshire based EPC Engineering Consultancy in the recruitment of a Contract Electrical Engineer for an international site role to focus on the planning, build and commisioning stages of large process engineering packages and equipment from an electrical perspectve throughout UAE & EMEA.

Reporting to the allocated regions Engineering Director the purpose of this all encompassing hands on site project engineering (electrical) opportunity is to identify & develop the correct processes on site(s) and commision large scale heavy engineeirng plant to agreed timescales and quality standards.

Initial responsibilities will include:
  • Full Electrical installation & commissioning for EPC contracts across global sites
  • Support project delivery from an electrical perspeactive from pre-construction through to completion on an ongoing basis.
  • Confirmation and approval of subcontractor drawings and designs
  • Managing sub-contractors where required.
  • Provide electrical engineering level delivery support to project delivery team on site.
  • Liaise & problem solve with design team
  • Preparation of completion docs such as O&M Manuals, commissioning plans, DRL
  • Electrical site planning and executing
  • Order plant, resource and materials
  • Arrange, attend, conduct on and off site meetings
  • Liase with customer and conduct update meetings and create weekly reports

Preffered Candidate:
  • Time Served / Qualified engineer with at least 10 years demonstrable Electrical EPC projects experience in a site based capacity, ideally NOT in the UK.
  • Preparation and understanding of technical reports and documentation to a high level
  • Controls AND/ or Instrumentation a distinct advantage
  • Demonstrable experience within land based site projects such as Chemicals, Process, Minerals, Aggregates, Metals, Utilities etc.
  • Have demonstrable site engineering experience working with highly complex international projects
  • Flexibility to travel to sites throughout the world
  • Strong communicator (written and verbal)
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering construction and commissioning stages of significant engineering projects
  • Have engineered projects in excess of £5m
  • Able to travel outwith the UK for signifiant periods of time
