SEN Teaching Assistant - York

SEN Primary School in York
Small class sizes of 6-10 pupils
1:1 and GTA positions available
The Job Role:

Supporting pupils aged 4-11 years old with a diagnosis of SEN (Special Educational Needs)
Working on a 1:1 basis to help develop social and academic skills
To liaise with outside agencies and professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Behaviour Specialists and Social Workers
Develop independence and encourage independent learning
Working between 0830 and 1600, Monday to Friday, term time only
Minimum Candidate Requirements:

Have experience of supporting children or adults with additional or complex needs
Have relevant training or qualifications such as Health and Social Care, Autism Awareness, Behaviour Management (Team Teach, NAPPI, MAPA etc), Moving and Handling (or be willing to complete this), Nursery Nurse, SENCO or Degree in Nursing etc
Patience and the willingness to learn
Charisma, enthusiasm and confidence
Be able to provide a 6 year career history and relevant reference information
