Hays is delighted to be working with a large and well-known public-sector organisation to recruit a Finance Officer to join their friendly Finance Department in Edinburgh City Centre. This opportunity will provide the successful candidate substantial experience in financial management. working to ensure that accounting, payment and cash handling data is processed accurately in a welcoming and engaging team.

Your new role
Reporting directly into the Finance Manager, as Finance Officer you will be responsible for processing financial data relating to payment processing, sales invoicing and producing accurate and timely account reconciliations. You will also be undertaking year-end processes and drafting accurate Financial statements. In addition to providing ad-hoc financial information at the request of the Finance manager, you will be maintaining the organisation's data protection and information security policies and will be committed to ensure good health and safety in accordance with existing policies, procedures and guidelines of the organisation.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have previous experience working as a finance professional where you're comfortable working in a small team. You will ideally have a how-to knowledge and understanding of applying financial processes and IT systems in support of the organisation's objectives. You will demonstrate an excellent ability to analyse financial information and will be well-versed in balancing conflict workload priorities. Liaising with key individuals within the organisation you will have excellent communication skills and demonstrate good relationship building.
