UX Developer

As a Front-End Developer at Soap Media you'll be working with our award-winning in-house development team in the heart of Preston city centre. You'll work across a wide variety of client projects, from brand new website builds, supporting legacy software, and the opportunity to be involved with our other innovative development projects.

We're looking for someone filled with enthusiasm to overcome a wide variety of coding challenges. Someone who fully understands the latest cutting-edge requirements when writing front-end code to display on different devices. Someone who can work well within small project agile teams which are Scrum focused. Someone with experience delivering beautiful and elegant experiences to maximise the UX and enhance the user journey.

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Version control systems, such as Git
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript, including jQuery
  • Knowledge of WordPress theme development
  • Basic understanding of PHP
  • Experience in Photoshop or Sketch and pulling assets from both

Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with Bootstrap and/or similar front-end framework (e.g. Foundation)
  • Task runners such as Grunt or Gulp
  • Experience writing BEM/OOCSS
  • Twig or similar template engine experience
  • Experience working in an Agile team
  • An understanding of performance and scalability
  • ES6
  • JavaScript framework experience such as React, Angular etc.
  • Knowledge of Atomic design principles
  • Experience working in an Agile team
  • An understanding of performance and scalability
