Our client, a dedicated engineering company, are seeking an Accountant to join their dependable team based in Farnborough, Hampshire.

As the Accountant, reporting to the Managing Director, you will be solely responsible for managing the financial accounts of the business and supporting the overall smooth running of the operational and office functions.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

·Manage an accurate record of financial transactions.

·Maintain confidentiality with regards to financial information to ensure customer confidence and operation security.

·Summarise current financial status and prepare financial reports by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports.

·Maintain company ledgers.

·Manage accounts payable and receivable.

·Complete tax forms.

·Manage profit and loss statements and balance sheets.

·Handle client invoices by recording and approving or denying the payments.

·Invoice deliveries and paying vendors for their goods and services.

·Monitor debt levels and ensuring compliance with debt covenants.

·Record cash receipts and handling bank deposits.

·Manage timesheet and sub-contractor invoices.

·Prepare information for auditors.

·Keep an annual company budget.

·Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analysing account information.

·Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.

·Keep abreast of professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Experience required

·Previous experience in a relevant role.

·ATT, ACCA or CIMA qualified.

·Experience using Xero advantageous.
