Our client, a leading manufacturer based in Redditch, is looking to appoint a Quality Inspection Team Leader to lead the Inspection team to ensure the timely inspection of products are compliant with defined quality requirements. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well established, successful growing organisation.

Supplying goods to varied environments for industries including Aerospace, Defence, Oil and Gas this is a role that requires adherence to stringent Aerospace quality requirements and processes in the inspection of its product.

Reporting to the Quality Manager the Inspection Team Leader will be responsible for:

• Ensuring adherence to stringent Aerospace quality requirements and processes in the inspection of springs, wireforms, stampings and assemblies
• Prioritisation and monitoring of workloads for the Inspection team
• Complete FAIR’s, PPAP’s, PFMEA’s and customer Quality paperwork
• Investigating and reporting non-conformities
• Participate in continuous improvement activities
• Adhere to Health & Safety procedures and oversee that others are also undertaking their responsibilities
• Liaise with Section Team Leaders & work closely with colleagues to ensure timely workflow into Inspection and to hit production due dates
• Deputise for Quality Manager when required

The successful candidate will represent the organisation with customers and suppliers and you will be responsible for managing, instructing, overseeing and motivating the Quality Inspection team.

You will have the ability to understand and interpret technical drawings and specifications and will have previous experience of root cause analysis eg 8D, Fishbone,5Y, and AS9100 in a range of materials and products. Excellent attention to detail, use of Microsoft word and excel are essential.

In addition the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a positive attitude, attention and a passion for detail and be an advocate towards continuous improvement.

Previous experience in a similar Spring/Presswork manufacturing environment is desirable and with formal Quality training or qualification. Knowledge of NADCAP or CMM trained would be an advantage.
