A leading Global Financial Institution is seeking to employ a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager based in London.

Hours 35 per week/permanent.

The Global Insurance Business Finance team is a growing team with high visibility across the Global Insurance business. The team supports the business in shaping its future direction and interpreting complex financial challenges. The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager will be formally based within the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) part of Business Finance and will work with colleagues across the wider Business Finance team. The role holder will report to the Global Head of Business Finance, with a dotted line to the Global Head of Financial Planning and Analysis.

The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager will be accountable for supporting key stakeholders including the Global Insurance CFO and wider Executive team, and the Global RBWM CFO; demonstrating strong numeracy, clarity of communication, an appetite to challenge opinions and push for analytical insight, and a desire to develop their own technical knowledge and commercial understanding in support of both the role in question and their ongoing development. They will be a core part of key decision-making processes such as setting annual planning targets, viability of strategic proposals, and prioritising internal investment projects. They will own and communicate recommendations to help drive decisions across the firm’s Life Manufacturing and Distribution insurance operations. In doing so, the role holder will work closely with senior leaders in Insurance Finance and the Insurance business in Hong Kong and the UK, as well as key stakeholders in our core local Insurance businesses.

The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager will also be responsible for covering a wide variety of challenging work ranging from financial planning & forecasting to Executive Committee reporting, support of key internal strategic projects, monitoring of investment initiatives, product & customer level analytics and IFRS 17 implementation, amongst other areas;  high quality strategic analysis, business insights and effective communication to senior stakeholders within Finance and the Insurance business. While the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager is aligned to FP&A area of the team, the role holder is expected to collaborate work across other areas which includes Asset Liability and Capital Management (‘ALCM’); and Finance Actuarial.

The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager will play a key role in executing high quality BAU management while also driving productive change with colleagues across Finance and the wider team.

The successful candidate will be a graduate and will have the following attributes:

  • Substantial experience in financial analysis or similar, likely from top accounting, strategy consultancy, banking or similar backgrounds
  • Track record of delivery in a large and complex operating environment
  • Frequent exposure to senior Finance and non-finance staff 
  • Qualified Financial Professional (CA, CFA, MBA, MA (Fin) or similar is desirable but not essential).
