Job Description
You will assist the Assistant Group Manager (Lighting Asset Management) with all matters relating to Lighting Asset Management.

Duties include to monitor, review and issue the lighting element of all RCC / Section 56 applications and liaise with all relevant parties to ensure that response targets are met. The post will also include the flexibility to cover other lighting capital projects to transform Glasgow City Council's street lighting investing in LED technology / infrastructure to assist in developing a safe, resilient energy efficient lighting network. You will also assist in the development of the Lighting Asset Management service and possess good communication skills, IT skills, an awareness of CDM Regulations, Health & Safety legislation, the Scottish Road Works Register and a track record of working together with colleagues and partners, internal and external to the Council, to give excellent customer service. You will be a key member of a team that will design, monitor, supervise and administrate all lighting installation works throughout the city and assist in the management/development of the city's lighting infrastructure and new developments.

A Degree in Electrical Engineering is essential, however an HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering plus professional experience demonstrating a high level of technical competency will also be considered.
You are required to have a working knowledge of technical standards and BS7671, supervisory skills, experience of delivering complex engineering projects, the ability to manage budgets and monitor performance against targets, good communication skills and a current driving licence. Experience of contract preparation and administration is also essential as is the ability to use Microsoft Office and project management sofware. Presentation skills, experience in writing technical reports/feasibility studies and an understanding of CDM 2015 regulations is desirable.
