Are you a recent Geography graduate with a passion for you subject and a desire to teach?

Perhaps you have been a tutor and have been inspired to consider a career as a teacher. Perhaps you have little or no experience at all but feel that teaching is the right profession for you.

We are looking to meet with Geography graduates who are excited by the thought of working with young people and would relish the opportunity to start off by becoming a Geography Teaching Assistant.

To be successful in your application for this Geography Teaching Assistant post, you must be someone who is considering a career as a teacher and would like to gain some first-hand experience of working in a school environment. You will be passionate about your subject and excited to get into schools and help encourage students to have the same enthusiasm for Geography.

As a Geography Teaching Assistant your role will involve you supporting teaching and learning throughout the department. You will be assisting the class teacher in their planning and delivery of lessons. As a Geography Teaching Assistant, you will also have the opportunity to work with the students on a 1:1 basis. The experiences that you will gain will see you grow in confidence, broaden your understanding of the curriculum and develop your teaching skills.

This is a supportive school who regularly appoint graduates into Teaching Assistant roles to give them a good opportunity to explore a career in teaching. You will have the guidance of a committed Humanities department, alongside an experienced and encouraging Headteacher. This school also provides graduates with a route into teacher training and so this role could potentially allow you to progress onto teacher training as of 2020 at the same school.
