ICT Information and Desktop Support Officer

Salary: £28,577 per annum

Location: Cardiff

Contract: Fixed-term - 8 months

Your role

A fantastic opportunity to join our ICT services team. You will have responsibility for providing support around the administration of various processes, incident reporting and day to day support of Information Support mailbox enquiries.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders and our outsourced ICT provider to ensure that incidents are resolved promptly, problems are accurately reported, tracked and diagnosed and that ICT services are efficiently delivered.

You will support in analysing current processes and procedures and developing new procedures based on our drive for continual service Improvement.

What you will need

You will be IT literate, with demonstrable knowledge of Citrix XenApp thin client and Microsoft Outlook email. You will also be willing to work towards the principles of ITILV3 and corresponding ICT service management.

With strong customer focus and experience of building good working relationships with stakeholders, you will have experience of managing a range of enquiries from internal stakeholders and have excellent communication skills.

You will have the ability to work well as part of a team and have a positive can-do attitude, flexibility of approach, including willingness to travel to other IOPC offices for ICT projects.

About the IOPC

As a totally independent body, not part of the police or government, we oversee the police complaints system in England and Wales. As well as setting the standards the police should apply when handling complaints, we investigate and make decisions on some of the UK's most sensitive cases, including where police action may have led to death or serious injury.
