A fantastic Accounts Assistant position has recently become available at a leading Salford-based business as a result of recent growth. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payables and receivables - including reviewing and reconciling accounts, and maintaining updated records of invoices and receipts.

As an Accounts Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

Reporting on the status of the accounts payable and receivable
Preparing, sending and storing all invoices
Dealing with invoice queries
Managing obligations to suppliers, customers and third-party vendors
Performing bank reconciliations
Reconciling customer receipts
Contacting clients and sending reminders to ensure timely payments
Identifying and addressing any discrepancies
Chasing PODs and matching to invoices
Submitted tax forms as required
Updating internal accounting databases
Managing fuel cards

As an Accounts Assistant, you will have/be:

Previous experience working in a similar role
Strong bookkeeping knowledge (double entry etc.)
Good data entry skills with a keen eye for detail
Experience with an ERP system is useful but not essential (ideally Sage 50)
IT literate, including intermediate capability on MS Excel
Confident working both as an individual and in a team
Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
Good organisation and time-management skills
