Teacher of Chemistry - Wigan: October 2019

An Ofsted rated 'Good' secondary school in Wigan are seeking a qualified Teacher of Chemistry to cover a long-term sickness teaching KS3 Science and GCSE Chemistry. The role will be starting in October and will continue for 6-8 weeks. The school welcome applicants from both experienced and NQT teachers.

Chemistry Role Information:
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Science lessons to inspire and engage pupils
  • Mark work, give appropriate feedback and maintain records of pupils' progress and development
  • Manage pupil behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, and apply appropriate and effective measures
  • Undertake pastoral duties, such as taking on the role of form tutor, and supporting pupils on an individual basis through academic or personal difficulties.

Chemistry Teacher Requirements:
  • Have a Bachelor of Education, PGCE or UK recognised equivalent teaching qualification
  • Have experience of teaching GCSE Chemistry
  • Be an inspirational role model; committed to their own learning and that of others
