We are a leading supplier of industrial and commercial mechanical and electrical goods based in the Derby/Derbyshire Area. Established for over 50years, we are the market leader in our field and due to continual development of our product range and company growth we are looking to recruit a Product Test and Compliance Manager to join our forward thinking organisation.

This pivitoal senior role within our organisation offers the successful Product Test and Compliance Manager the opportunity to grow a team of test and compliance engineers within a newly established test centre based in our Derbyshire operation.

The role:

  • Oversee the test department ensuring that fit and form testing procedures are conducted on all new and current products to ensure the safety, design and performance of products adheres to relevant EU directives and product legislation.
  • Oversee the internal reporting system to ensure that the relevant product construction files and compliance reports are complete and current.
  • Evaluate any modifications on existing product ranges, and ensure that corrective actions are checked and prioritised.
  • Ensure that testing for safety, design, performance and compliance of products is carried out within agreed commercial timescales.
  • Champion the test and development of all products within the organisation providing technical advice and guidance on new and existing product development.
  • Manage a team of test engineers, monitoring KPI'S and productivity to agreed development parameters.

As the Product Test and Compliance Manager you will:

  • Be MIN HNC/HND qualified in engineering, testing, materials technology or quality
  • Be commercially aware, ideally having worked within entrepreneurial organisations
  • Knowledge of product testing/product development
  • Be technically minded with mechanical/electrical product experience.
  • Understand EN, BSI, ISO standards
  • Have experience of working with imported goods
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership skills, with a strong ability within team building, mentoring and development of personnel.
  • Knowledge of PUWER, LOWER, Pressure regs, RoSH, REACH, PAH's
  • Demonstrate outstanding report writing ability, systems management and be a skilled written and verbal communicator.
  • Be able to work well under pressure, and demonstrate an analytic approach to problem solving,
