A very well-respected and well-recognised Cheltenham school is looking for a Senior Examinations Officer to work term-time only (plus two weeks to be agreed mutually), 37 hours per week.

You will be working with the management teams to ensure the school conducts all external examinations as required by the Joint Council for Qualifications. You will also be promoting the school's aims and priorities to achieve targets in line with the strategic framework and short-term priorities.

As a Senior Examinations Officer, your duties will include:

- Taking responsibility for all operational activities at the school.
- Liaising with relevant staff and invigilators to ensure that the school is compliant with all relevant statutory guidance.
- Liaising with invigilators to ensure that the school can to run with a full quota of invigilators, including where a student(s) needs to sit an exam at an external venue.
- Liaising with relevant school leaders to ensure that students are entered for exams as requested.
- Liaising as necessary between relevant school leaders and awarding bodies.
- Providing exam timetables for staff, students and parents, as requested by relevant school leaders, in a timely manner.
- Making adequate arrangements for exams to be sat in school, in terms of rooming, seating and supervision.
- Disseminating assessment materials from awarding bodies to relevant school leaders, as appropriate.
- Ensuring that candidates receive appropriate accreditation and certification for their achievements.
- Facilitate the smooth-running of both A-Level results day and GCSE results day.

Such duties may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the post, or the level of responsibility entailed.

To be a successful Senior Examinations Officer, you will have the following skills and experiences:

- Relevant educational qualifications at school/college/university.
- Relevant professional qualifications or an expressed desire to undertake this training.
- The ability to competently use Microsoft Office packages, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- The ability to competently use management information systems.
- The ability to easily assimilate complex information and create reports.
- Previous experience of being an examinations officer in a secondary school.
- An understanding of Child protection/safeguarding is beneficial but is not essential.
- Experience of maintaining accurate files and records and ensuring compliance with legislation is beneficial but is not essential.

In return, a Senior Officer will receive a salary of circa £26,000 - £33,000 per annum, pro-rata.
