About the role
OPPORTUNITY AWAITS!

Business Operations is a unique and innovative service providing transactional services for the council as well as leading on commercial activity and project delivery. As part of the Orbis partnership, we deliver services for Surrey, East Sussex, Brighton and Hove as well as numerous external customers and residents. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to help shape the future of Business Operations by delivering a broad range of projects at a time of significant time of change for local government nationwide.

We are championing partnerships with other local councils and public sector organisations, and you will be at the heart of transforming public sector back office and driving efficiency. That means incredible diversity and complexity of projects is assured, as is a huge scope to innovate. With a constant stream of varied and fascinating projects, you could play a part in re-engineering processes; implementing new systems and developing the ways we bring in new business within Surrey County Councils award winning Business Operations service.

But this is not just about solving today's challenges. You will also lay the building blocks for tomorrow. Crucially, you will stick around to see them implemented, and continue to refine, improve and, where necessary, transform. You will be able to experience the whole project lifecycle helping define the strategy and direction of the service - exciting stuff!

You will join the Business Operations Strategic Delivery Team who has the remit to drive improvements across the back office, ensuring we are fit to meet the challenges of the future.

To be equal to the challenge, you will possess a good knowledge of operational processes and have experience in managing complex projects from beginning to end. You will be confident at communicating and managing senior stakeholders across a complex multi-site operation, as well as being empathetic and influential with a passion for shaping and driving positive change.
