Clinical Pharmacist(s) - Primary Care Network Salary: Equivalent to band 7 Benefits: NHS pension, includes life insurance 33 days annual leave plus bank holidays Location: Various Locations across Sunderland Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours, Part Time considered at a minimum of 0.5 whole time equivalent The five year framework for GP contract reform provides funding for a number of additional roles in primary care including Clinical Pharmacists, who will work across the new Primary Care Networks in a pioneering role. This is an exciting time for the city and our residents as we continue to build on our ambitions and experience to provide better health for Sunderland by working collaboratively with all system partners to provide joined up health and social care. The employer is Sunderland GP Alliance a not-for-profit organisation owned by the city's GPs representing over 250,000 patients. Over the last four years, we have been instrumental in improving services for patients and staff by creating access to GPs on evenings and weekends, supporting multi-disciplinary team working for our most unwell patients and by piloting Clinical Pharmacists in the General Practice sector, obtaining runner up status in the Primary Care Pharmacy Team of the year. We are now seeking to roll out pharmacists across Primary Care Networks as part of the NHS England GP Contract changes. This provides an exciting opportunity for Pharmacists to join our established and growing team in providing meaningful, patient centred support in general practice to deliver: * Support to Multi-Disciplinary Teams * Clinical Medicine review and long term condition clinics * Prescription requests, queries and prescribing efficiencies * Processing letters and discharges * Utilising expertise in Independent prescribing or support to achieve if not already held. In return successful candidates can expect: * 33 days annual leave * NHS Pension * Robust clinical supervision and support * Primary Care specific training via CPPE primary care pathway, including Independent prescribing if not already held * GP mentoring * Peer support and team network * Support to develop clinical skills as appropriate for the role * System network access and learning opportunities * Career path and career development opportunities The successful candidate will be forward-thinking with well-developed emotional intelligence to be able to navigate the complex political challenges of the role, whilst maintaining their own personal resilience.
