About the Department

SSE IT underpins the technology needs of all the different businesses that make up the SSE group. From emerging technologies to data and analytics to cyber security - we power SSEs growth and enable it to generate value, while keeping it secure. As a trusted business partner that helps SSE lead in a low carbon world, we are proud of our service. Working for SSE IT is all about equipping SSE for now and the future.

What is the Role

Our Data & Analytics (DnA) team supports the execution of SSE business strategy through the deployment of competitive DnA capabilities. The Data Management Centre of Excellence sits within the DnA team and helps each business unit to manage data as an asset and thereby understand and improve the value of their data - an essential capability that underpins the successful delivery of analytics and true business insight.

As the Lead BA, you'll support the Head of Data Management in the implementation of a group-wide Data Management strategy and service and help SSE business units drive the cultural change and governance framework necessary for the effective management of SSE data assets. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and deliver the operating model that underpins the data management strategy and service provision and take a leading role in shaping and scoping early stage Data Management projects. You'll also oversee the management and development of the Data Management team in line with the goals of the Head of Data Management and provide expert coaching and mentoring to junior team members.

What do I need?

You'll demonstrate a significant breadth and depth of knowledge and experience as a BA with experience from a similar role in supporting business critical/complex systems in a large organisation.

You'll need to demonstrate a deep understanding of the issues and opportunities facing large organisations operating in an increasingly data-driven knowledge economy. Experience of supporting the implementation of data management best practice into an organisation and using this to drive measurable improvements will be essential. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with a proven ability to influence effectively at all levels of the organisation will also be critical to your success.

Please notify your line manager before you submit your application.
