Support Engineer, Application Support Analyst, Java

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Application Support Analyst / Support Engineer to join an Oxfordshire based Software Company. Joining a small Helpdesk team acting as a point of escalation, the Application Support Analyst, will provide 2nd line Support to a wide user base.

This Application Support Engineer position will be very customer-focused, working directly with external customers to troubleshoot and fix their issues, as well as build lasting relationships with recurring users. As the Application Support Engineer, you will be diagnosing technical issues, reviewing code, performing bug-fixes, and managing tickets and escalations.

What's required of the Support Engineer?

The Application Support Engineer will have a skill set including:

- Previous 2nd line support experience within a customer facing role

- Experience supporting Java based applications

- Ability to perform basic patches and bug fixes

- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases

- Strong communicator
