About the Role

We're looking for a temporary Packaging Manager to join our Sourcing team, to cover a period of maternity leave.

As our Packaging Manager, you'll be responsible for managing consistency across the business in regards to all packaging including design, functionality, sourcing, production and delivery. You'll ensure that packaging is fit for purpose, using the most cost-effective methods to meet waste reduction targets.

Working closely with the relevant Buying, Merchandising, QA, QC and Logistics teams to manage and control packaging for all Matalan products, you'll provide guidance and education on packaging issues and compliance requirements.

You'll also be responsible for the day to day management of the Packaging team, developing and supporting the Assistant & Admin with their roles.

This role is offered on a fixed-term, temporary contract to cover maternity leave.

About You
  • Proven experience of a similar role, ideally within Retail
  • Knowledge of packaging designs and processes would be beneficial
  • Previous experience of managing and developing teams
  • Ability to deliver to tight deadlines and manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills
  • High level of management and organisational skills
