Salary: starting at £19,000 - £24,000 DOE
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 16:00pm
We have a fantastic opportunity available for a Finance Assistant based in the Exeter area.
An opportunity has arisen for Finance Assistant, reporting to the Exeter Financial Controller. The Finance Assistant will be responsible for assisting with the monthly close procedures for Companies, reporting and statutory returns as well as assisting the Finance team with everyday tasks. This role is part of the Exeter Finance department based in Exeter.

Main Responsibilities include:
· Assists with the monthly close procedures for companies, fulfilling corporate reporting requirement
· Preparation of management account information
· Maintains the general ledger
· Supporting local finance team
· Responsible for completing VAT returns, EC sales list and associated returns
· Provision of daily / weekly / monthly key performance indicators within a management pack for senior business leaders
· Assists with preparation of statutory accounts for the UK group
· Helps co-ordinate audit and tax compliance
· Supporting managers in understanding the flow of financial transactions
· Responsible for processing invoices in line with the businesses purchasing process


Good working knowledge of accounting system & Microsoft applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint - preferably experience in Oracle.
Experience with statutory accounts preparation, preferably Onesource/Digital Accounts
Preferably with exposure to compliance requirements
Member of an Accountancy body - AAT level 4
Understands data, executes and implements plans
Ability to work within a team or without supervision
A proactive approach
Positive and reliable attitude
Strong general business knowledge and understanding of financial statements
Strong analytical skills; data oriented
Effective oral and written communication skills
Works well in a team environment
Well-developed time management skills

The right candidate will:

be enthusiastic with a proactive approach

have good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
have strong general IT skills
Previous experience with Oracle and Thompson Routers One Source / Digita Accounts Production would be beneficial
Strong analytical skills; data oriented
