Venrec are pleased to be recruiting for a full time bookkeeper and accounts assistant on behalf of our client; an established firm of Chartered Accountants based in Maidstone , Kent

The role entails;
  • Providing bookkeeping services for the firm's clients, whether consisting of recording from manual records or working with computerised accounting software
  • Preparation of client VAT returns and related analysis work
  • Undertaking external bookkeeping and VAT return assignments on behalf of the firm's clients
  • Providing basic accounting support and assistance to other staff members

A successful candidate will have the following skills and experience;
  • Have sufficient experience in bookkeeping and basic accounting to be able to work unsupervised on assignments
  • Competence in the use of Sage 50, Sage Business Cloud, QuickBooks and Xero
  • Comfortable with working with incomplete records and using Microsoft Excel and other basic office software
  • Attention to detail and time management is important
  • Good communication skills and a friendly approach with clients
  • Have an understanding of what is required in a busy professional accounting practice on a day to day basis
  • Approach each assignment methodically, and work efficiently to the end goal
  • Ability to work in a team, or on your own, as necessary according to the particular task involved

Salary is up to £22,000 depending on experience
