Becoming a Governance Assistant with Capita Managing Agency:

As the Assistant Company Secretary, you will provide competent support to Capita Managing Agency's (CMA's) governance function, primarily by taking minutes of board and committee meetings but also including some administrative and other duties that will contribute to the effective running of the business and its governance and compliance function within a regulated industry.

What you will do:
  • Attend formal board and committee meetings and draft the minutes, which are the formal record of the proceedings of the meetings
  • Prepare for board and committee meetings, including uploading papers to CMA's online governance application, arranging meeting-rooms, sending invitations etc .
  • Undertake other administrative tasks to assist the Compliance Director and the CMA team, as necessary

Your experience will include:

  • Previous experience of minute-taking
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and under pressure
  • Ability to prepare, format and edit Word documents
  • Experience of working in a regulated industry, in financial services or insurance (desirable)
  • Qualified (ACIS) or part-qualified company secretary (desirable, not essential)
