Property and real estate group seeks an interim Tax Administrator- up to £300/day

Your new company is a property tech group based in Central London. After several strategic acquisitions the company's portfolio has grown exponentially and has recently reached a value of £4 billion and continues to grow. Given the vast expansion of the company there is an opportunity for an interim Tax and Finance Manager to support the Head of Tax in providing a broad range of tax advice to the group, creating an effective in-house tax advisory and compliance function.

Given the companies rapid growth, the changing tax landscape and small tax team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks and develop a broad skill set.

The purpose of this role is to provide support to the Head of Tax and VAT Manager and provide a diverse range of tax services to the group. However, fundamentally this role will have a strong VAT focus.

Key responsibilities include:

VAT matters:
  • return preparation/ submission
  • VAT registrations, deregistrations,
  • Options to tax over UK land and buildings
  • Maintaining good VAT records
  • HMRC online management
  • CIS administration such as maintaining supplier/payment details
  • Responding to HMRC enquiries, working with the wider tax team
  • Arranging tax payments/ paying penalties
  • Maintaining appropriate tax files, hard copy and electronic
  • Preparing tax diagrams as required by the tax team
  • Maintaining Transfer Pricing contractual documents
  • Maintaining withholding tax records

This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax administrator who is looking to widen and utilise their current skillset, knowledge and experience in a dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate will have a high degree of computer literacy, with strong Excel skills. They will also be highly organised with the ability to create records from scratch and piece together where record keeping is lacking

Most important is attitude. The ideal candidate should demonstrate :

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment that moves at an incredibly fast pace;
  • Keen to roll sleeves up and crunch data;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Logical/ reasoned approach to problem solving;
  • Ability to build relationships quickly;
  • VAT experience/ tax admin;
  • Experience with SAP is desirable.

What you'll get in return

The role will be a 6 month position with the possibility to go permanent pay £200-300 depending on experience.
