We are currently looking to appoint a part-qualified Assistant Accountant to be based in our Leeds Head Office at Horsforth, reporting into the Regulated Finance Manager.

What you'll be getting up to:
  • Production of high quality inputs into the year-end statutory accounts.
  • Liaison with internal and external auditors.
  • Support the production of financial MI in line with evolving business requirements.
  • Support the production of month end management accounts for the networks and Paragon.
  • Support the production of core retention gross profit margin MI that is accurate and informative.
  • Support the calculation of complaints and clawback provisions.
  • Support the accounting for all member debtors/creditors and ex member debtors/creditors including assessing the completeness, existence and accuracy of the balance for each on the balance sheet.
  • Support the full reconciliation and control of the Balances sheets.
  • Support the management of intercompany trading for the networks and Paragon.
  • Identifying continuous improvement opportunities in Finance and implementing any changes.
  • The Assistant Financial Accountant role is a flexible position and other duties will be directed by the Financial Accountant. These will include being the Financial accounts support for any new initiatives, ad hoc systems projects and providing Finance support to operational departments as required.

You will be able to demonstrate the following skillsets:
  • Previous financial accounting experience in a financial services environment would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Proven track record of financial accounting.
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA part-qualified.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Innovative and proactive approach to tasks and processes.
  • Excellent analytical and processing skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced excel skills are required e.g. vlook up, pivot tables etc.
  • IT literate across Microsoft suite of products including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Positive, friendly and helpful team player.
