My Client is looking for a Financial Controller to join their well established, growing business and to lead a small Finance team.

Role Description:

Reporting directly to the MD you would be responsible for managing the finance function of all business entities and providing strategic input to the board of directors

Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly management financial information
  • Preparation of rolling 13 week cash flow forecasts in liaison with the surveying department
  • Monitoring and reporting on overhead performance against budget
  • Leading and mentoring the finance team
  • Making recommendations on improvements across all business areas
  • Responsibility for all financial management and reporting
  • Maintenance of Accounting records
  • Accountable for meeting all external statutory submission requirements and deadlines
  • Preparation of all year-end statutory audit information for external auditors
  • Managing payroll within the company
  • Responsible for the general financial management of 10 group companies
  • Accountable for the production of internal reports
  • Bank management responsibility
  • Contribution to strategic business activities and future plans
  • Supporting and advising on HR matters as required
  • Implementation and maintenance of new accounting software

Key skills and experience:
  • Qualified Accountant ACA/ACCA/ACMA with excellent financial and management accounting experience.
  • Commercial acumen
  • Good leadership skills and motivator of the team
  • Being able to work both in a team and independently
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Good time management, ability to multi task
  • Passionate about what we do and how we do it
  • Good presentation skills
  • Strong planning and logistical skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills and experience of implementing new accounting software

Key Performance Indicators:
  • Meet submission deadlines (internal, external and regulatory)
  • Monitor and control budget responsibility
  • Ensure positive cash flow within the business.

Experience in the construction industry is desirable but not essential.
