Assistant Account Manager Westerham, Kent/Surrey Border

My Client is a well established Financial Services Company. They are expanding and are looking for two numerate Assistant Account Managers who have at least 1 year full-time employment history, preferably office based.

This role is suited to a 2nd/3rd jobber but equally they are very happy to take someone more mature who is happy to start a new career path. This role is the entry level within the Company and career progression is expected.

Full training is given as what my Client does is so specialised that they would not expect previous experience. Solid Numeracy & literacy skills, the ability to work in an orderly fashion and excellent attention to detail is all they ask on day 1.

Profile of Role:

The role of the Assistant Account Manager is to provide administrative support to the Account Management team in the Management of its 300+ Clients.

Working as part of a team, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in most areas of the business including data entry, Customer service and different types of software as used across the business. In order to be successful in this role, you will need to be numerate and possess excellent attention to detail, a desire to learn and develop new skills and a can-do attitude. Full training will be provided. A structured career path within the business is available to you in the long term.

Essential skills required for the job.
  • Minimum education level of GCSE Maths and English
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Customer service skills and an excellent telephone manner
  • The ability to learn the rules and regulations of individual tax offices within Europe (training provided)
  • The availability to travel up to 10% of the time as part of a team (20 to 30 days out of the office each year) - this will be within the UK and all expenses will be paid. Travel will not be expected in the first few months as you will need to undertake a certain amount of training before you are useful on Client site.
  • Computer literate / Experience in relevant Microsoft packages such as Word and Excel

You will be responsible for:
  • Sorting hard copy and digital invoices into relevant categories including country, expense type and date
  • Mark up invoices for data entry requirements including identifying and highlighting key information
  • Barcoding and scanning of invoices
  • Begin compilation of VAT recovery claims including creating claim files and adding required documents as they are received
  • Attend audits (invoice retrieval) at client sites in the UK and mainland Europe for periods of up to one week at a time. For automotive clients only.
  • Auditing invoices received from the client and returning them to client if required
  • Undertake data entry using the company T&E (Travel and Expense) system
  • Contact clients and client suppliers to request missing information or additional supporting documentation as needed
  • Assist and provide cover on other tasks as required by the business
