I am currently recruiting a Purchase Ledger Assistant on a temporary to permanent basis. This is working for a Facility company based in East London close to Upminster Station.

My client is a facility company based in East London. They were established in 2009 and since have grown consistently year on year.

They are now looking to hire a Purchase Ledger Assistant on a temporary to permanent basis. This will be an initial temporary assignment for 6 months. The role will be based in their offices in London.

Purchase Ledger Assistant, East London

Roles and Duties:
  • Ensuring all processes and procedures are correctly followed in the processing of all invoices
  • Expenses
  • Concur transactions and card payments
  • Ensuring the completion of tasks in accordance with the work and task planner
  • Ensuring all payment runs are available for review at agreed times
  • Ensuring all payments are properly authorised and queried items are not paid until resolved
  • Ensuring all suppliers are subject to supplier statement reconciliations as per the agreed schedule
  • Providing ad-hoc management information and reports upon request
  • Constantly looking for ways to improve the processes
  • Where relevant, ensure invoices are in agreement with approved purchase orders.
  • Ensure numerical accuracy of all invoices.
  • Ensure invoices are approved by authorised personnel.
  • Deal with all supplier enquiries.


The successful candidate MUST be immediately available and can interview / start at short notice.

They must also have 2-3 years working knowledge of the roles and duties above.
  • Experience of working within a purchase ledger department
  • IT skills - Excel, SUN, INFOR
  • Able to deliver to deadlines
  • Methodical
  • Attention to detail
  • Numerate

Job Offer

The successful candidate will be paid between £11-13 per hour depending on experience.
