Water Quality Analyst
South West Water now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Water Quality Analyst (Marine) to join the team in Exeter. The Role The Water Quality Analyst will provide technical expertise in the preparation and delivery of South West Water's regulatory obligations as defined in the Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP) under the bathing and shellfish water investigations drivers. These investigations will increase understanding of the significance and / or contribution of water company assets to bacterial water quality at bathing / shellfish water monitoring points, to assess what water company action would significantly improve the chance of achieving or safeguarding improved water quality classification. The Ideal Water Quality Analyst: Masters, Bachelors degree or HNC in associated discipline. Technical understanding of marine water quality processes or proven ability in similar area. Relevant experience in water quality sampling and analysis activity preferred. Experience of other pipeline/process industries (eg Gas, Chemical) considered. Proven ability to work within a team environment but also independently. Proven ability to communicate and liaise effectively with internal and external customers in both verbal and written contexts. Knowledge of computer systems which will include both MS Office and Corporate applications. Proven ability to manage, manipulate and assess large quantities of analytical data. Site based sampling skills to be able to undertake surveys as required. Understanding of principles of Health and Safety procedures and the ability to undertake pre-site visit and dynamic risk assessments. Understanding of principals of Lone Working procedures and Basic First Aid. Rewards & Benefits: In return for your hard work as our Water Quality Analyst, we can offer a starting salary of £22,000 - £25,000 per annum dependent on skills and experience + a working arrangements supplement.
