Job Purpose To be responsible for improving the delivery of high quality care to our residents in our Care Homes. To be a visible leader in the Home demonstrating behaviours and actions that promote our Vision, Mission and ; You will support the staff at the Homes to drive the operation and growth of a 24 hour business with continual focus on people, customers, compliance and financial results. You will support the focus Homes to improve the quality of service delivery, record keeping and the safe administration of medication by a hands on approach. You will support the Home Managers to fully complete actions identified from company and Home audits To mentor, coach and develop the skills of staff at Home level to their maximum potential focusing on the clinical side. You will ensure delivery of the highest standards of quality clinical care by following company policy and monitoring outcomes at individual Homes. Accountabilities: People To ensure all documentation is compliant with CQC requirements To support the Home Managers to fully complete actions identified from company and Home audits To ensure trained nurse's work in accordance with company policies, in particular with regards to care planning and medication management and in line with the NMC Code of Conduct. To ensure the safe ordering, administration, recording and disposal of medication To support staff to complete and update care plans and risk assessments on an individual resident basis Support all staff to fully develop their skills to their full potential. Ensure the culture of Care: Comfort: Compassion and Credibility is visible across homes Improve staff retention through a positive, open and honest culture Results To maintain / achieve / improve the CQC rating to Good and aspire to become Outstanding Providing support across the organisation through home visits, planning and implementing support To work with company's Home Managers, Deputy Managers, Clinical leads and Care Managers where relevant. To continually innovate and improve the quality of care given to their residents and the home. Ensure support services to the Homes are of a high standard, ie. Laundry, Housekeeping, Catering, Activities and Maintenance. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company quality requirements through audits and monthly reviews. To support completion of the company audits, KPI and weekly / monthly reports To update and review the Homes Continuous Improvement Plans To support accurate and timely completion of the KPI and weekly / monthly Home Manager report Customers Demonstrate a Healthcare Partner approach by building strong working relationships with LA s, PCTs, GP Commissioners and other referral parties Ensure the delivery of quality care, continually assessing our resident's needs and wishes and developing the service to enhance their quality of life. To assist the Home Managers to ensure customer expectations and complaints are managed in a timely and professional manner Ensure security of records in line with General Data Protection Regulation Seek out and act on regular customer feedback in line with residents relatives meetings. Communicate effectively with residents and relatives Judgement Skills Work within defined budget parameters as detailed by the business. Implement pragmatic solutions to improve quality that is achievable within the care homes Understand the link between their role and the achievement of company objectives. To build positive working relationships with all agencies and visiting health professionals Environment To ensure that staff are aware of the overall objectives of the Care Home, namely that the residents are encouraged to maintain independence and choice in a safe homely environment which promotes customer service excellence To ensure that the Homes are well maintained and report all issues To monitor and report H&S issues To ensure that the Home and all equipment are clean JOB REQUIREMENTS RGN qualified- an active PIN number Extensive knowledge of Care Home settings Full Knowledge and understanding of CQC standards Ability to work without direct supervision Able to travel to all locations across the Group and stay away where required Full driving licence
