Ringway Jacobs is a leading UK provider of integrated services for highway maintenance and management. They work with their clients to plan, programme and deliver highly efficient services. They have a fantastic opportunity for Lighting and Technology Engineer to join their team. They are currently working across 4 different contracts in Essex, Central Beds, Bucks and Cheshire East and this person can be based at any of these.
As the Lighting and Technology Engineer you will carry out the design, investigation, and implementation of lighting schemes and provide input in the development of the technology team.

Main Responsibilities:

• To carry out the design, investigation, and implementation of lighting schemes
• Working with the lighting design team to deliver the design requirements
• Writing Feasibility Reports
• Engagement with Clients and external parties
• Interaction with Operations teams to ensure effective handover of designs including Health & Safety requirements
• Providing day to day technical support for the trainee/assistant design engineers
• To plan and implement the maintenance programmes associated with lighting ensuring that these are fully integrated and coordinated with other highway maintenance and works programmes
• Maintain positive and constructive working relationships and communication channels with external organisations and also within the Council
• Comply with the Health and Safety Policy of the Council including Construction, Design and Management Regulations

Key Qualities and Experience:

• CAD / Auto CAD or Electrical Engineering experience is desirable
• Some knowledge or experience within the Electrical, Highways or Street Lighting industry is highly advantageous or experience within the IT industry would also be highly beneficial for supporting the development of the new technology division.
• Strong IT skills
• 2-3 years engineering experience
• Driving licence and own transport
