TRAINEE NURSERY NURSE - WA5 2NU Springwood is a private day nursery and out of school care service. We provide a care away from your family home for children aged from birth to five years, a before and after link club for Penketh south and St Vincents primary schools and a holiday club is available for any child between 5 and 11 years. We offer full or part time sessions for 72 children, 32 of these places are for Pre ? school children. We also offer your free child's space/Government grant sessions, which currently stand at 12.5 hours a week. The nursery is set on beautiful grounds and we are fortunate to have a large play area and spacious, airy rooms. Purpose of Post To work with your Room Leader and other colleagues to ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual education and care for children placed in the Nursery. To assist the room leader and support others to ensure the Nursery has a strong, reliable and consistent team. To be responsible for the day to day care of children, ensuring all their physical, mental and intellectual needs are met. Responsible for the education of children through age and stage appropriate activities and learning opportunities. Key Areas High Standards of Care and Education of the Children Team Building and Staff Support Communication, Organisation, Discussion and Observation Main Duties Be aware of and act in accordance with all relevant current legislation and ensure that all policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to at all times The duties of the role may be subject to change as the Nursery develops and any changes to the role will be through consultation between the manager or room leader. A nursery nurse's must assist the room leader to ensure that the Nursery runs smoothly and work to their full potential. Key Purpose of Job To work as part of the Nursery team to provide high quality care and education for children aged -5. To ensure you adhere to nursery policies and procedures at all times. Key Duties To supervise and play with the children To oversee activities which cover all 6 areas of children's development. To support children in all 7 areas of development helping them to reach their full potential. To liase with and support parents and carers Support all staff and engage in a good staff team Ensure good hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times Develop and maintain good relationships and communication with parents / carers to facilitate day to day caring needs of the children. To ensure all children are signed in and out of the register by their parent/carer. To ensure the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children Ensure all nursery policies and procedures are adhered to. Health and Safety Responsibilities All employees will ensure that they; Take care of their own safety and that of others. Ensure that equipment, toys, resources, furniture and fixtures are not damaged. Comply with health and safety procedures and instructions. Will not neglect, misuse, damage anything provided in the interest of health and safety. Assist by reporting any hazard, accident, damage or defect to the room leader in order that remedial action may be undertaken. Undergo any training or instruction to enable them to work competently and safely. To undertake additional duties as required. The successful candidate: Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children Have a knowledge of Early Years Foundation stage curriculum Will have a caring, nurturing instinct and a positive and outgoing personality Will be able to communicate effectively with everyone at the club - from the children to the parents!
