We have an exciting and rare opportunity for a new addition to our office team! We are looking for a Health & Social Care Trainer ( Learning and Development Supervisor) to take over the training and management of our fantastic team of CAREGivers.

This is a busy and demanding job role, so would suit someone who has great people skills and is very organised. Experience in training, working in health & social care and managing a team are essential.

Salary negotiable, to be discussed at interview.

The working hours for the Health & Social Care Trainer (Learning and Development Supervisor) role are 8:30am - 17:00 Monday to Friday.

Job Description

The Health & Social Care Trainer will be responsible for the delivery and management of training to our team of 40 CAREGivers as well as part of their line management. To be able to deliver the best quality care to our clients it is imperative that our CAREGivers are given the skills and support to allow them to provide the help to our clients that we aspire to. The Health & Social Care Trainer will report to the Care Manager and Managing Director and be part of a 7 person office team. Health & Social Care Trainer Main Duties :

·Deliver the highest level of training for new and existing CAREGivers, in line with Home Instead's standards - such as Home Instead's learning and development programme and the Care Certificate.

·Responsible for inducting all new CAREGivers

·Maintain the training matrix to ensure all refresher courses and new training are completed within the correct timescale. Ensure that key performance targets set for training are achieved.

·Ensure that training is up to date for all staff and meets their individual needs.

·Maintaining records of all training delivered and due

·Deliver annual appraisals to our CAREGivers and identify future training requirements.

Health & Social Care Trainer Secondary Duties :

·Support the recruiter to develop a range of strategies and practices to continually improve retention of our staff.

·Conduct support visits to clients to provide specific training to staff in areas such as manual handling and to evidence staff are competent and general supervision.

·Support staff in obtaining external training such as QCF in Health and Social Care.

·Working closely with the Care Manager to identify root causes of CAREGiver performance issues and to rectify with additional training.

·Participation in out of hours call rota.

·Assist in emergency cover of clients if required.

·Support recruitment manager in initial chats or interviews with prospective CAREGivers.

·The above is not an exhaustive list and the Health & Social Care Trainer (Learning and Development Supervisor) will be expected to carry out other duties that are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job.

Person Spec:

·Must have experience in preparing, managing and delivering training programmes

·Minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is essential as well as practical work experience in the care sector

·Minimum of 5 GCSE's A-C including Maths and English

·Teaching qualification such a PTLLS desirable

·Have great people skills, to be able to be empathetic to our CAREGivers but at the same time clear in what is required of them.

·Be knowledgeable of different learning styles, communicating in different ways to and be patient and understanding with this

·Excellent time and diary management skills are essential

·Be a problem solver and be calm and level headed under pressure

·Be a team player, have a sense of humour and be able to go the extra mile

·Must have valid UK driver's licence and own car with business insurance as travelling to carry out support visits on our staff is a vital part of this role.
