    Head of Insurance - Manchester
    Management of complex insurance portfolio across the Group
    £65k-£75k (dependent upon experience) plus car allowance, bonus, pension, healthcare and great benefits

    The Role:

    The Head of Insurance role has been newly created to introduce a Subject Matter Expert within MAG - thus delivering insurance expertise to the business. You'll be based at MAG Head Office, Manchester Airport.

    As a credible expert, you will understand MAG's risk profile to ensure that current insurance needs are met, and future needs anticipated. You will engage with senior colleagues to understand the business and the appropriateness of insurance to transfer risk. You will work with these leaders and managers to drive down the cost of claims given the associated positive impact on premiums. You'll also oversee performance of the Insurance team, impacting positively on decision making for the benefit of the guest experience and the business. You will support the Acting Director of Risk in the oversight and management of the Group's complex insurance portfolio, ensuring that the Group's key transferable risks are adequately protected through the right levels of insurance cover whilst securing value for money from brokers and insurers. This includes implementing the strategic direction of the Insurance service through liaison with and management of internal and external stakeholders.

    You will have real impact within this role; your expertise, leadership credibility and influence will help to shape a successful Insurance Strategy and achieve significant financial benefits for the business and a positive guest and employee experience.

    You:


      A credible Insurance professional, you will have a successful track record within a brokerage or in-house, or a combination.
      Preferably, you will be CII qualified, though not essential, as your experience and expertise is paramount.
      Exceptional communicator, ability to effectively engage, influence and educate senior leaders and colleagues.
      Track record of successfully instilling credibility with colleagues at all levels up to Senior Leadership and Executive level
      Experienced in the effective delivery of presentations to boards, management teams and committees
      Sound technical knowledge of insurance and risk management and their application in commercial and operational environments
      Ability to produce high quality, insightful reports and presentations
      Able to manage commercial relationships and negotiate effectively with insurance brokers and underwriters
      Highly self-motivated, with a constructive approach to problem solving
      Ability to work well under pressure, set high standards and able to manage demanding issues, both individually and as part of a team
      A visible and approachable leader who consistently recognises people for their contribution and outputs and implements effective delegation of authority and tasks in order work as an effective team that achieves and exceeds the departmental strategic objectives.

      What we offer!
